The Lead Process Engineer of ultrapure water (UPW), Demin and water recycling system will leverage on his/her expertise and experience on developing reliable and competitive solutions in different industries including microelectronics & power industry and water recycling.  He/She is able to utilise a sound knowledge of water and wastewater treatment technologies to provide technical support to Industrial clients: to develop and strengthen the company’s Water Treatment Technical portfolio through implementation of SUEZ technologies, industry best practices and tools; to conduct plant audits and manage the design component of Engineering Studies; to provide process expertise for troubleshooting and operations optimisation; to sign off on concept/basic/detail process designs produced for complex projects, as applicable; to lead a team of engineers, technicians and drafter to accomplish the above, all within the agreed constraints of time, costs and quality.

 

Job Objectivities

 

  • Developing and reviewing process calculation, BFD, PFD, mass balance, P&ID and control philosophy on time
  • Develop and review control narratives and philosophies in coordination with Instruments & Controls (I&C) Engineer.
  • Developing the guarantee figures, test plan and conditions
  • Cooperating with key SUEZ stakeholders during test and commissioning period to meet specification and hand over on time
  • Driving excellence in schedule, cost and quality in process design perspective 
  • Cooperating with SUEZ's global process team and supporting global opportunities
  • Delivering value engineering and alternative for cost competitiveness
  • Proactively monitoring the trend of semiconductor market, developing creative solution and outcome
  • Sharing knowledge and experience internally and externally
  • Technical writing of system documentation such as specifications and operations and maintenance (O&M) manuals.
  • Lead and participate in and hazard and operability studies (HAZOPs).
  • Develop factory acceptance test (FAT) plans.
  • Support detailed engineering, specification, procurement and construction of systems with Mechanical Engineering staff.
  • Assist commissioning engineer and Instruments & Controls (I&C) Engineer in conducting vendor FAT’s.
  • Assist commissioning engineer and I&C Engineer in system commissioning.
  • Evaluate performance data during piloting, commissioning and operation/maintenance phases of Gradiant’s Projects and assist with troubleshooting in collaboration with Gradiant Operations.
  • Positively always promote a safe and healthy work environment and employ safe work practices, including documenting incidents and recommending and following through on corrective actions.
  • Monitor compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain efficient communication and information sharing between Sales, Engineering, Operations and Product departments.
  • Carry out other duties as may be assigned from time to time by manager.

 

Preliminary Requirement

 

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral degree in Science, Chemistry, chemical engineering or environmental engineering 
  • > 3 years’ experience in Process Engineering in the water industry is required, preferably in UPW & wastewater treatment industry.
  • Skill of using Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Power point, Project) & Auto Cad
  • Mechanical knowledge to discuss with customer & engineer
  • Basic I&C knowledge to discuss with customer & engineer
  • Familiar with UPW, Resin, RO, EDI and thermal technologies is preferred. Previous experience with membrane filtration and reverse osmosis systems is plus.
  • Both written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese
  • Strong interpersonal skills.  Able to work well with internal/external clients and co-ordinate and manage conflicting situations. Proven ability to work cross-functionally, and the ability influence across different cultures and leadership levels
  • Capacity to manage high stress situations in Microelectronic industry.
