Who are we looking for?

 

SUEZ Water Technologies & Solutions (WTS) is a worldwide leader in water recovery, treatment and reuse. We design and supply a range of water systems, from food and beverage applications, to municipal water, to microelectronics ultrapure water and heavy industrial wastewater treatment. Our portfolio of technologies includes solids-contact clarification, membrane & media filtration, ion exchange, electrolysis, aerobic/anaerobic digestion, evaporation, ozone/UV disinfection and more.


The Project Manager operates in a networked and highly flexible role. This opening is for a Project Manager position in the execution team of the Purification and Disinfection group, based out of Leonia, NJ. The team delivers capital projects centered on our core technologies: ozone generators and UV disinfection systems. The Project Manager is responsible for each project’s execution on all aspects (contractual, financial, relationships, technical and planning) from the beginning until the end of the guarantee period, in order to ensure the success of the project.

The position favors a creative, skilled communicator who approaches problems analytically and with intellectual rigor. Most importantly, though, the PM is able direct a team of experts and possesses a well-developed sense for when and where guidance is needed. Our team is structured such that the Project Manager will be involved in engineering design, review and quality control, so a strong technical background is preferred.

 

 

 The core Project Manager Duties are as follows:

                                                                                                                                                                                          

  • Define, organize and maintain the project plan, schedule, deliverables, budgets and risks.
  • Responsible for delivering the scope of the project based on signed terms and conditions with the customer.
  • Identify, manage and mitigate project risk and opportunities; contractual, technical and other.
  • Manage the project team, both directly and cross-functionally, including engineers from multiple disciplines, CAD technicians, purchasing agents, production staff and field service technicians
  • Manage internal/external stakeholders, including but not limited to contractors, consulting engineers, vendors and end users.
  • Responsible for managing the project budget. Updated forecasted cost at completion based on cost to date spend on the project.
  • Present to management at schedule reviews and strategic project reviews meeting project deviation and plan of action to correct all negative impacts to budget, scope and schedule.
  • Manage project changes and claims management with the customers and vendors
  • Actively participate in technical meetings, serving as the informed decision maker and quality control resource
  • Interact with technical experts to identify and resolve critical technical issues and risks and follow-up with the execution engineers to ensure proper direction is taken

 

Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or an equivalent field
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or the ability to obtain it within 1 year
3-5 years of Project Management experience, or Engineering experience in a strong leadership capacity, in a Water related industry. Experience with water treatment processes or equipment manufacturing is preferred.

Fluency in English and French is desired

Useful skills or abilities:
Experience managing Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) contracts preferred
Impeccable planning, organization and time management
Clear, concise communication skills
Team player, who can exercise good judgement under ambiguous or changing conditions
Spanish, French, Chinese or other language skills may be useful
The role requires the ability to travel domestically and internationally 5-20% of the time
